Gratitude to the sunrise for arriving without demand.
Gratitude to the sky for clear skies and clouds.
Gratitude to the birds, who begin their day with song.
Gratitude to the earth beneath my feet, holding roots, stones, worms, memories, and futures all at once.
Gratitude to the waters moving unseen. In the soil, in the rivers, in the blood, in the tears that become wisdom.
Gratitude to the fire of life, however small or bright it burns today.
Gratitude to notice beauty in nature.
Gratitude to those tending their garden.
Gratitude for the body as it holds you.
Gratitude for mystery, which keeps the world larger than our explanations.
Gratitude to the winds that carry seeds farther than they could travel alone.
Gratitude to the ancestors who succeeded enough for this day to exist.
A blackbird on the fence.
Weather moving across a valley.
A smile to the day.
The fact that life is occurring at all.
